I’m John Atkins, photographer, digital artist, and poet.
I’ve been writing poetry from the age of 17, almost 47 years’ of printed verbal angst and forests of paper from unsustainable sources. Sorry planet.
But probably my journey to becoming a digital artist through the medium of photography has been the most rewarding. Photography found me during a mid-life crisis and an acrimonious divorce. It was both a lot less expensive and more fun than therapy, and, probably more importantly, it provided me with a career in freelance photojournalism.
Now I’m passionate about sharing the joy and wellbeing that photography and poetry, as forms of visual art, can inspire. So wherever you are on your creative journey, I hope that with the Poetry of Light you’ll find inspiration and the means to progress further.
